Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. Our art jams are for everyone – including complete beginners and people who haven’t made art since school (or ever!). There’s no pressure to be “good” at art. The focus is on enjoying the process, relaxing, and expressing yourself in a supportive, friendly space. You can take part as much or as little as you like.

Each session is relaxed and informal. We start with a gentle theme or prompt, then explore it using a range of materials such as paints, pencils, pastels, or collage. Sometimes we work individually, and sometimes collaboratively on shared pieces. There’s no right or wrong way to take part.

No – all materials are provided. Just bring yourself and wear something you’re comfortable in (and don’t mind getting a little messy, just in case!).

Yes. Many of our participants feel nervous at first, and that’s completely okay. There’s no pressure to talk, share your work, or socialise beyond what feels comfortable. You’re welcome to simply focus on making art at your own pace.

You’re welcome to arrive and leave at any point during the session. Stay for the full time or just pop in – it’s entirely up to you.

Our art jams are designed for adults. No upper age limit – everyone is welcome.  That said, children are also welcome and we can make the activity suitable for them too.  Children below the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

No. This is not a class and there is no assessment or critique. The art jam is about enjoyment, wellbeing, and connection rather than results.

It’s not a traditional class. Artists are there to gently guide and support, but the emphasis is on exploration, creativity, and having a go – not on learning specific techniques
